This rack right here is one of my favorites. It's the Saris MHS. It's modular hitch system and what we're gonna be taking a look at it on is a 2022 Acura MDX. So we have a mountain bike here. If you have a full suspension mountain bike, a downhill bike, regardless, any wheel base up to 53 inches, this is gonna be able to work with. And also when it comes to tire widths for those fat tire bikes, up to five inches. more

Rhino Rack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Acura MDX- Video
This right here is the Rhino-Rack 2 hanging style bike rack. And we're gonna be taking a look at it on our 2022 Acura MDX. This is gonna be a great entry level way to get two bikes to and from your destination. This one right here is gonna have a capacity of 33 pounds for bikes. So anything heavier than that, we don't wanna use it. And if you do have a carbon fiber frame bike, it's not really the best rack for that just because we do have some frame contact. more

Saris Door County 2 Electric Bike Rack Review - 2016 Acura MDX- Video
Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today, we'll be taking a look at our Saris Door County two-bike rack, right here on our 2016 Acura MDX. So this is the Saris Door County or what I call the elevator bike rack. That's because if you power it with your 7-way system, it then lifts and lowers, making easier to move your bike onto it, especially when you have those heavy electric bikes, that makes that easier, and once it's all strapped down, you can then just lift the bike rack up and you're ready to ride. So we'll take a look at some of the different features, but focus on how it works with your Acura MDX and just some different things that would make it easier for you, but also possibly more difficult. And we're gonna to put this on a 2022 Acura MDX Now, if you are going with a three bike version, just note that this is only available in the two by two inch receiver tube opening configuration. Now, as you can see today, we have the two bike version and this is an awesome bike rack. And I know that personally, because I've had this on my vehicle for quite a while and I've gotten to use it quite often. So, the thing that makes this great is A, it's a platform style. more

Hey there, adventurous RDX owners. Today on your 2009 Acura RDX we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Helium two bike rack. It's also available in a three bike version if that suits you better. The Thule Helium is designed to hold your bike by its top tube. It has two cradles on top and one over here, the anti-sway cradle that's going to prevent bike to bike and bike to vehicle contact. Now being that it does hold your bike by the top tube, I don't recommend it for carbon fiber frame bikes, but really any other bike you've got out there. more

Hi there, Acura owners. Today on your 2009 Acura RDX, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Swagman's XTC2 Two-Bike Platform Rack. This two-bike platform rack is going to be a great option to securely haul two bikes around with you, using either a two inch or one and a quarter inch hitch.There is a sleeve that comes available with it to get it mounted up in those two inch hitches. You can see here, we've got a bike mounted up on it, and it holds it at three different locations. Each wheel is held in place inside of its cradle, with a strap that goes across it to ensure that it stays inside the cradle.Our frame has a lock down here on top where our hooked arm can slide down to secure it in place. Simply just push down on it until it holds it nice and secure. more

This is going to be a four bike hanging style rack to get those bikes to and from the trails. Now in order to gain rear hatch access, we're going to have to remove this pin down lower, remove the pin, tilt it away. Now you can see we have full access to our rear hatch. This going to come in handy for those trips that we might've forgotten to get some groceries on the way there, so we need to stop and grab some groceries, unload them, and then we can be on our way. more

Yakima TwoTimer Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Acura MDX- Video
Jake: Hey guys, it's Jake here with eTrailer. Today we have a 2016 Acura MDX, and we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima TwoTimer Bike Rack. This is going to be a platform style bike rack that's going to hold your bikes by a hook on the top tube, and down strapped to two cradles.Now one of the biggest issues when hauling a hitch mounted bike rack on our SUV like we have here, is that you're not going to be able to access your rear hatch with any bikes loaded. But, with the feature on the TwoTimer, is you can lift up on the back here, pull out on this pin, and lower it down to tilt it away from our vehicle, to give us access to our rear hatch. This is going to allow us to get into our rear hatch and get any gear we may have forgotten, or while we're at the grocery store, if we stop somewhere closer to our destination, we're going to be able to tilt our loaded bikes away from our vehicle and load up the back of our car. Then when you're done, you just close up your rear hatch and tilt your bike back up into place.Let's go ahead and remove our bike. more

Rola Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Acura MDX- Video
Hey there, MDX owners. Today on your 2017 Acura MDX, we're going to be taking a look at the Rola TX two bike rack. It's also available in a three bike version.The Rola TX is a hanging style bike rack. What that means is it's going to hold your bike in place by its top tube using the two straps and the bike will sit in the cradles. Additionally, there's an anti-sway cradle with a strap and what that's gonna do is it's going to prevent any bike-to-bike contact by reducing sway in the bike so that it doesn't come in contact with any other bikes or with your rack.Some bikes with smaller frames like women's and children's bikes or our mountain bike here may require the use of a bike adapter bar to work with hanging style bike racks. What that's going to do is just give you a wider opening to be able to fit your bike on so that you can hang it. more

Hey there, MDX owners. Today on your 2017 Acura MDX, we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Helium 2-Bike Rack. The Thule Helium's best feature is in it's name, helium. It's an incredibly lightweight bike rack that you should have no trouble installing yourself into your hitch. It's a two bike rack, it's also available for three bikes, and it holds your bikes in place by their top tube using two straps on top, and one strap on the side. That's our anti-sway, and that's going to prevent any bike-to-bike and bike-to-rack contact.Now as with all hanging style bike racks, some bikes may require the use of an adapter bar if there's not enough room in the frame to be able to get your bike on there. more

Now we've currently got my grandpa's bike from the 80s on it, but it'll work with all modern bikes as well, too. I will say on some of your smaller children's bikes, you may need to use Thule's adapter bar in order to get it to mount properly.The bike's held in place with three points of contact. Each bike is held in place at three locations, two on the top of at frame, and one on our vertical beam here to help prevent any rattling back and forth, to prevent bike-to-bike contact as well as bike direct context.The straps hold it in place. They're rubberized so there won't cause any scratches or abrasions to the top, and they're easy to put on and take off as they simply slide over the hook here. more

Today on our 2013 Acura RDX, we'll be test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro Tilting 4-bike Carrier part number TH934XTR. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pinholes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the threaded pinholes and tighten with a wrench. Now let's go over some clearance measurements to see how the bike carrier and this vehicle fit together. There's about 11 inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the vehicle to the closest part of the carrier is about six inches. With the cradle arms folded down, we've added about 16 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. To access the cargo area, we'll pull the pin located at the bottom of the carrier and tilt the carrier down. This will allow you to have access to your cargo door. more

Today on our 2014 Acura MBX we'll be test fitting the Thule Helium Aero, Hitch-Mounted 2-bike rack, Part #TH9042. We'll begin by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After allowing the integrated hitch pin to fall into place we will then turn the black knob to engage the anti-rattle device. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 18 1/2 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 4 inches away and we've added about 19 inches to the overall length of our Acura. We'll now go ahead and lift up on the gray lever at the top of the mast and swing out our dual arms. With the cradle arms out, we've added about 28 inches to the overall length of our MBX. more

Today on our 2014 Acura MDX, we will be test fitting the Yakima StickUp Hitch Mounted Platform style 2 Bike Rack, part number Y02420. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt and then tighten it down using a wrench. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the 2 fit together. We have about 14 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 5-1/2 inches away, and we have added about 14 inches to the overall length of our Acura. Now, we'll go ahead and pull the red pin at the base of the bike rack and tilt the platform down. With the bike rack in this position, we have about 17 inches of ground clearance, and we have added about 35 inches to the overall length of our MDX. With the bike rack in this position, you can see that we can easily access the rear hatch. more

SportRack Super EZ Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 Acura MDX- Video
Today on our 2014 Acura MDX, we'll be test fitting the Sportrack Super EZ Platform style Hitch Mounted 2 Bike Rack, part number SR2901LR. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down using the wrench. Once it's tightened down, we'll secure it with a lock on the other side. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the 2 fit together. We have about 14 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 8 inches away, and we've added about 27 inches to the overall length of our Acura. To access the cargo area, we can pull the 3 pins at the base of the bike rack to tilt down the wheel trays as well as the mast. more

Today on our 2014 Acura MDX, we'll be test-fitting the Thule Apex Swing hitch-mounted bike rack. Part number: TH9027. We'll begin our test-fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After allowing the inserter of the hitch pin to fall into place, we'll turn the black knob to engage the anti-rattle device. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together: We have about 13" of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 3 and 1/2" away and we've added about 13" to the overall length of our Acura. We'll now go ahead and lift up on the gray lever at the at the top of the mast and swing the cradle arms out. With the cradle arms out, we've added about 35" to the overall length of our MDX. To load up a bike, we'll simply undo the cradle straps, place our bike into the frame cradles, and then secure it with the straps. Now, one great feature of the Apex Swing is that it has the ability to tilt out with the bike loaded. We can do this by loosening the black tee-handle at the base of the bike rack and lifting up on the black tee-handle with the gold post. This will allow us to swing the bike rack out and have access to the rear hatch. And with our bike all loaded up, that will complete today's test-fit of the Thule Apex Swing, Part number: TH9027 on our 2014 Acura MDX. . more

SportRack Escape 3 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Acura RDX- Video
Today on our 2013 Acura RDX well be test fitting the Sportrack Escape three bike carrier, part number A30403. To begin our test fit well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, align up our pin holes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the threaded pin holes and tighten with a wrench. Now lets go over some clearance measurements to see how the bike carrier and this vehicle fit together. There is about 12 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the vehicle to the closest part of the carrier is about 4 inches. Weve added about 11 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. more

Softride Dura Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Acura RDX- Video

To begin our test fit well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, align up our pin holes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the threaded pin holes and tighten with a wrench. Now lets go over some clearance measurements to see how the bike carrier and this vehicle fit together. There is about 11 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the vehicle to the closest part of the carrier is about 5 inches. Weve added about 36 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. more

Kuat Sherpa Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Acura RDX- Video
Today on our 2013 Acura RDX well be test fitting the Kuat Sherpa aluminum two bike carrier, part number S102. To begin our test fit well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch and turn the black knob located at the base of the carrier to engage our anti-rattle device. Now lets go over a few measurements to see how the bike carrier and this vehicle fit together. There is about 11 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the vehicle to the closest part of the carrier is about 1 inch. With the bike carrier folded up weve added about 12 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. more
